We do not have a page limit on fiction submissions, but tend to publish stories that are between five to fifteen pages, though of course there are exceptions. We are drawn toward voice-driven, stylistically innovative stories (at R&R, form/style > content). International submissions and work in translation are encouraged. Translators should secure permission to translate before submitting. To get a sense of what we like, we recommend reading "The Counter" by Stephen Dixon, and "Three Stories" by Austyn Wohlers, both online at: https://www.relegationbooks.com/journal/. We will consider simultaneous submissions.

As for poetry, please submit no more than ten pages of poems. The best way to get a sense of what we're interested in is by reading the poetry we've published.

We pay $75 for short fiction and $50 for 1-5 poems. We only publish one or two pieces a week, so please be patient with us if your work is accepted. Thank you.
